Everything came full circle last weekend. My wife and I attended a gala where we, among others like Matt Stafford, raised nearly $400K for couples struggling to pay for IVF. (My wife took a photo with Matt Stafford, but Caleb Williams is my QB so I took a photo with his wife instead. ๐๐ป) During our IVF journey, we often struggled mentally and emotionally. Why us? But I kept holding out faith that we'd eventually find out why. Last weekend, we did. Soon, we'll be reviewing applications and awarding couples with money from the Bloore Strong Grant. This entire initiative is my wife Anyaโs idea. My role is supporting her vision, contributing financially, and using my D-list celebrity status to post about the event. (Is D-list too generous? I was on television: All My Children and The Bachelorette. Luckily, my season got aired. ๐คฃ ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ) When she told me she wanted to donate, I said, "Let's do it." When she told me how much she wanted to donate, I said, "Let's go to Italy and send a check for $5K." She's a far kinder, compassionate, and more generous person than me. I'm thankful God put her in my life. Let's dive in ๐ ๐๏ธ Cut Your Workout Time by 36% (Without Losing Gains)Supersets are not some fancy "intensity technique." They're more like a time machine. Not as cool as a Delorean with a white-haired mad scientist. But cool, nonetheless. A recent study from Brad Schoenfeld's lab (Burke et al., 2026) took 43 trained lifters and split them into two groups for 8 weeks. Same exercises. Same volume. Same effort. (Brad Schoenfeld is Tonal's former head of their Strength Institute when they still had money for such things.) The only difference is one group did Traditional Sets.
The other group did Antagonistic Supersets.
The results showed virtually identical gains in muscle size, strength, power, and endurance between the two groups. But the superset group finished 36% faster. That's a 60-minute workout done in 38 minutes. Same results. Less time working out. More time doing literally anything else. In short: STOP SCROLLING THE GRAM. Unless you're following me, then it's okay โ @actionjacksonfitnessโ Here's how to set it up:
Examples: 1A) Bench Press (Chest) 2A) Leg Curls (Hamstrings) 3A) Bicep Curls This is why we almost exclusively use supersets and circuits as our primary way of programming for our superstar clients. If you have the time, single sets are great. But if you want to save yourself 36% of your time, start using supersets. ๐ฝ๏ธ The Ozempic Problem Nobody Wants to Talk AboutGLP-1 drugs like Ozempic work, but they're not magic... A new meta-analysis (West et al., 2026) looked at 37 studies and over 9,000 adults. After people stopped taking the drugs, they gained back all the weight within about 2 years. For drugs like Ozempic, people gained back about 1.8 lbs per month after stopping. That's 4x faster than people who lost weight through coaching and exercise. And it's not just the scale. The improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar all reversed too. Hereโs why: the drugs suppress your appetite, so you eat less and lose weight. Never forget, fat loss comes from a calorie deficit. But if your habits donโt change, neither do your results long term. On top of that, people on these drugs can also be at higher risk of nutrient deficiencies. Double whammy. I've seen it with clients who come to me already on GLP-1s or those who are dead-set on trying them... Weight drops early, then stalls, because the habits never catch up. My mom tried lap-band surgery and it worked. She lost 50 lbs because she had to maintain a liquid diet while she healed from surgery. Once she was able to eat solid food again, she gained all the weight back. So she tried gastric bypass. Same story. Lost even more weight initially, but gained most of it back. Fried chicken, candy, butter popcorn... her habits never changed. Two high-risk surgeries: both effective short-term, but both pointless long-term. The drugs, like weight loss surgery, aren't the problem. Not changing your lifestyle is. Let me be clear: These solutions can work for some. My client Jorge lost 78 lbs with gastric bypass, then lost another 14 lbs, dropped 6% body fat, and gained 7 lbs of muscle working with us. But it only worked because he changed his habits, his lifestyle, and his identity. You've got two real options:
No moral high ground either way. But there's no third door where you take a shot for 6 months and coast. ๐ฅ Client of the Week โ Miriam, Physician & Father of TwinsMiriam had tried everything... Running 45 minutes three times a week. CrossFit. Peloton. Tonal. Years of effort chasing the same goal: visible abs and an athletic physique. Instead he was skinny fat. Frustrated. And wondering if genetics were just working against him. As an anesthesiologist with teenage twins, he didn't have time to waste on strategies that didn't work. June 2025, he decided: "I'm getting the six-pack before I'm too old."
How we did it:
The biggest change? Miriam stopped treating vacations as "cheat weeks." He packed his food scale, took photos of meals, and stayed consistent through travel, Ramadan fasting, and family trips. His twins now see a father who walks the talk. No lectures required. ๐ฅ Listen to his interview hereโ

Read Time: 3.5 min It's a hard thing to watch your parents get old. My dad just had his knee replaced, so I flew home to Chicago to take care of him for a few days. It's not just sad seeing the guy you thought was Superman get humbled. It's also a wake-up call that... that's going to be me one day. I posted a story on Instagram... I asked people what their #1 struggle is with eating a "healthy" breakfast. (I put "healthy" in quotes because the word means different things to different people. For our purposes, let's call it: high protein, lower calorie, high satiety.) The number one answer was not having enough time. (Cough. Excuse. ๐) Funny how that works. People don't have 10-15 minutes to make something at home... But they have time to swing through Starbucks for a Double-Smoked...
