(I was always at the math lab or the library so I wouldn't know what that's like. ππ€) Two quick fixes. Plus a bonus most people miss entirely. β Fix 1: Your setup. Drop your balance foot back into a split stance, then lean your torso forward. This loads your hamstring and glute before you drive up, so you're starting from a stronger, more stable position instead of muscling it up from a dead stop. Also, loading your hamstring and glute takes significant pressure off your front knee. It's win-win. You're in a stronger and more stable stance AND taking pressure off your knee. That's like being jacked AND tan at the Jersey Shore. I just dated myself. Yeah, I'm gonna be 44 in 2 weeks. β Fix 2: Your top position. Hinge at your hips and pull your back foot behind you as you lower down. This keeps tension where it should be, improves your balance, and takes the pressure off your front knee on the way down. π Bonus fix most people overlook: your bench. The Tonal bench is soft and cushioned. Standing on an unstable surface means your body recruits muscles less effectively, which tanks your force output and control. Swap it for a firm, flat third-party bench so your muscles can actually do their job. And so you can stay safe and injury free. π οΈ Grab a better bench and 25 other Tonal Accessories Here. More control. Less joint stress. A stronger step-up every rep. Try it on your next lower body day. ππ» The Integration of Training & Nutrition For Real ResultsYou bought a Tonal... And told yourself that was the hard part. Then came the real project. Finding the "right" program. Tried one. Switched to another. Tried another. And so on... Here's what nobody tells you at checkout. Tonal's a tool, not a coach. It doesn't know your specific goals, history, whether you're sick, or if you slept 2 hours or 10. You can run through every program in that library and still be stuck if your training and nutrition aren't working together... Or if nobody's adjusting the plan using real data about your progress (weight, measurements, photos, body fat, etc.) with each passing phase. That's not a discipline problem. That's a system problem. Stop spinning your wheels hoping the next program cracks it. π See what actually doesβ Time for action, Coach Jackson |

You've waited patiently for the payoff. Like a teenage boy watching an entire full length movie on Skinamax back in the 90s waiting patiently for just for a glimpse of cleavage... Now is the moment you've been waiting for: my take on the 25 new Tonal moves. [cigarette in mouth] Hold on to your butts: (Name the movie for bonus points.) If you haven't seen the BIG news... Tonal dropped 25 new exercises last week. The "hero" of the new moves pack is the Barbell Back Squat, which people have been requesting since I first started with Tonal many years ago. Here's the official post from Jenna of Tonal's Content & Performance Team posted on Reddit. Credit where credit is due. This is a great update, Tonal users are celebrating across the board, and my clients are pumped. In the post, Jenna walks through a rigorous 5-part process...
Read Time: ~3 minutes I made a reel recently comparing the Tonal spotter to a half-drunk frat boy eyeing the girl on the stair-stepper in short shorts. Like the frat boy, it barely pays attention to what you're doing. Then it kicks in, if you're lucky. And only if you know to engage it by coming to a complete stop. Then, the second you get the rep up, it vanishes again like a fart in the wind. No human spotter in a gym works that way. They don't wait for the bar to stop moving before stepping...
